That being said, I think in the end Rare made the right choice while Twelve Tales appears to be a good game, in the several, several number of platformers in the 90’s it wouldn’t have stood out as much. The gameplay is similar to Conker’s Bad Fur Day, with a tone similar to Banjo-Kazooie.

Screenshots and footage of Twelve Tales exists online, and in all honesty it looks pretty fun. So they changed direction, and made the game more violent, crude, and adult. See before Rare was being criticized for Sea Of Thieves’ lack of content, they were criticized for making too many kid-friendly games. Like most of Rare’s games, it was light-hearted and family-oriented…a little too light-hearted and family-oriented actually. Conker’s Pocket Tales on the Game Boy Color was the first game in the series, with his first ever appearance in Diddy Kong Racing. Most gamers know Conker from Conker’s Bad Fur Day, one of-if not the-most profane games ever released on a Nintendo console. Twelve Tales: Conker 64 (originally titled Conker’s Quest) was announced in 1997. This is a good example of what I mean by “change the gaming world”. So I’m going to be writing a few different articles based on different forms of lost and cancelled media, starting with five cancelled video games that could have changed the gaming world, maybe for the better, maybe for the worse. I think this is what inspired an interest in lost media.
CONKER 64 TWELVE TALES ROM MOVIE
What if they went in a different direction? What if the movie never happened at all? But I think the biggest thing was that it was a glimpse into how the movie was made, and that inspired a creative interest that was further nurtured as I got older and wiser, and took in more films, books, music, et cetera.īut I also thought about what if the filmmakers made different decisions than what was in the movie. Or maybe it was the idea that I was seeing something that I wasn’t supposed to be seeing. Maybe it was some of the art of the environments with little people drawn in, who looked like characters from the movie, but their faces weren’t drawn which set my young mind in a direction of what-ifs.
CONKER 64 TWELVE TALES ROM TV
Most kids my age wouldn’t have cared that much, and would have just turned off the TV and gone to bed, but I was intrigued.

I forget if it was a photo gallery, or if it was part of a featurette, but they showed clips of concept art of some of the characters, concepts of some of the environments like the room with the lava waterfall, and bits and pieces of ideas. I remember as a kid after having finished watching The Incredibles late at night, and looking through the special features. 6 Cancelled Video Games That Could Have Changed The Gaming World
